Pressure Washers Header

Pressure Washing A DrainPressure washers can be used for many different purposes but you have to be sure the surface you are using a pressure washer on is suitable because they can cause damage to some surfaces.

To gain the best results it is important that you understand how to use a pressure washer properly.

There are also some Cleaning Solutions you can use with a pressure washer but again you would need to check the suitability with the surface you were using it on before applying.

Below are some examples of the way pressure washers are used in drain work and the types of solutions that are often used along side pressure washers.

Using Pressure Washers

Pressure washers can be used on a fairly regular basis to prevent any build up that could cause drain blockages.

Although pressure washers can be used to remove drain blockages from drain work there are different classes of pressure washers. Some pressure washers are suitable for home use where as others are used mainly for industrial work.

There is also another type of pressure washer that is used to flush out central heating systems. Central heating systems sometimes get a build up of dirt in the pipes and require a pressure washer to flush the dirt out.

If using a pressure washer for this type of purpose it is important that you understand exactly how you are to use it because you could cause more damage rather than solving the problem.

Most of pressure washers are flexible poles with the washer piece on the end. This is so the pole can fit easily through the drains to the point of the blockage and therefore have a greater effect in the removal of it.

Choosing Cleaning Solutions

There are many different types of cleaning solution used with the power washers for all different surfaces.

There are some cleaning solutions that are suitable for wooden surfaces and others that can only be used on metal surfaces.

It is important to know what type you should be using on the surface you're cleaning because you could ruin the finish or the whole surface completely.

Cleaning solutions used for drainage systems would also have to have anti-bacterial properties a lot of the time especially if it was being used around waste drains to kill any bacteria that may be harmful to drainage engineers.

These cleaning solutions are also used in the event of a drainage pipe bursting to make sure the bacteria can't start to grow and spread. In a situation like this drainage engineers would remove everything from the house in the area of the spillage especially carpets, and they would proceed to clean the area with the power washer and cleaning solution.

After this drainage engineers would set up cold air fans in the room to dry it. heaters would be quicker to dry an area but then bacteria could spread quicker with the warmth.

The main issue when using pressure washers is making sure you have the right kind for the job you are carrying out. If in any doubt always ask a drainage professional before attempting the work to ensure you gain the result you are after.
